Two members of our family are known to have traveled from the Netherlands to New Amsterdam (Present day New York City) aboard the ship Bonte Koe. De Bonte Koe means "The Spotted Cow" in Dutch. Little is known of de Bonte Koe but it is believed to be about 170' long, 49'wide, and 20' tall. I've found a rendition of de Bonte Koe from the Holland Society that was published in the "Van Voorhees Nieuwsbrief" of Jan 1996.

De Bonte Koe sailed twice to New Amsterdam, once in 1660 and again in 1663. On the first voyage, among the ship's passengers was Steven Coerte, the progenator of the Voorhees[Van Voorhees] family in the New World. During the second sailing, we find Lammert Jansen Dorlant, who can be traced through the Durling family.

Below are the most coherent passenger lists that I have found so far on the net.
