'86 Camaro Engine ['99]

CAMARO ENGINE 1999
My first car was an '86 Camaro that my parents helped me get in 1996. Of course I drove it rough and had fun so by the spring of 1999 I had a leaky rear main seal.
I wasn't able or ready to take the engine out and fix it at that time, so I decided to put in some heavy [Too Heavy] weight to slow the leak.
Well, a few weeks later, I started it up and heard an awful metal-hitting-metal sound. I limped the car home and decided it was time to build a new engine.
My good friend Keith helped me find, build, and replace the engine. He also carted me around to college and work when he could.
We eventually took apart the old engine and found that the heavy weight oil floated one of the crank bearings.
It slid under the other half and set the engine so off balance that the bottom of the piston was smashing against the crankshaft counterweight.
